Deca Durabolin is an anabolic steroid of a prolonged action with poorly expressed androgenic effect. In terms of its structure, the molecule of this steroid is almost identical to that of testosterone.
This medicine is sold in ampoules. As a rule, this drug is entered intramuscularly. The usual dosages for stimulation of anabolic processes are 50-200 mg for men and 50–100 mg for women. The course duration (at a 1-4 weeks interval between injections) is up to 12 weeks, a repeated course is done in 8 weeks after the last injection of the drug. Treatment is carried out against the background of a protein-rich diet.
Pharmacological use
This medicine is used in different cases. For example: chronic infectious diseases, severe injuries, extensive operative measures, steroid myopathy, anemias at a chronic renal failure, a myelofibrosis, a myeloid aplasia of marrow, damage of marrow metastases of malignant new growths, myelotoxic medicines and salts of heavy metals; inoperable (with metastases) carcinoma of a mammary gland in case of women. But more often it is used by bodybuilders for the accumulation of muscle bulk. This medicine causes the growth of muscle mass at the same time increasing the amount of testosterone. Through this process, it is possible to increase muscle strength, as well as to increase the volume of muscles of a body.

This substance has a set of side effects for health if used any differently from doctor's orders. Side effects can manifest themselves differently. For men, the following side effects may occur:
- nausea;
- fluid retention;
- increase in fat in mammary glands;
- low sexual drive.
For women, the following side effects may occur:
- intensive hair growth;
- acne development;
- dilation of the clitoris;
- creation of male characteristics.
The abuse of this medicine or the wrong dosage can lead to the following consequences:
- bleeding;
- insomnia;
- heart failure;
- contractions in the bladder;
- jaundice.
